AFA’s first venture of selling as a group resulted in a delightful boutique filled with a wide array of items that used various fiber techniques. The booth drew lots of attention and positive comments. While a variety of beautiful art was on display, the best sellers smaller useful items such as journals, bowls, cards and scarves.
The booth promoted AFA, as well, providing flyers announcing our meeting dates. People wearing ribbons corresponding to the awards their quilt had won wandered through all day and many of our members came by wearing theirs. We are a talented group- here’s a list of booth participants: Susan Axel Bedsaul: hand dyes, Sara Sharp: Art quilts, Diane Barney: owls & shirts, Meg Wilson: woven pins, Mary Macaulay: felted items, Patty Koeninger: hand dyed fabrics, Patricia Day: Hand woven wraps, April Sullivan: framed yarn pictures, Cathy Swindle: handwoven scarves, Sandra Doak: Handwoven scarves and shawls, Sue Gilliam: collaged items, Anita Mester: fabric bowls, journals, bags and postcards, Lori Bier: hand painted silk scarves.
