Saturday March 10th2018, 9:00- 4:30
140 Tonkawa Ridge Hutto 78634
As professional artists, we constantly worry about how our work is received. What’s it worth both monetarily and aesthetically? What about the works by others that we own? What’s Grandma’s quilt worth?
How can you improve your work? What are best practices for entering a show? Ever wonder what goes on in the mind of a juror, judge, or exhibition administrator? Find out what happens behind the scenes and learn ways you can ensure that your work will get the best possible attention. Whether you enter shows or not, this portion of the workshop will help you evaluate your work, step back, and determine what needs to be done to make it a successful piece of art.
Application and practice is the key to this session. Participants must bring two pieces to be evaluated. These pieces can be the work either of the attendee or someone else. However, the attendee must demonstrate a willingness to have a piece publicly evaluated. Bring pencils, paper, and a laptop computer. No art supplies required.
