Paint offers endless opportunities for creating special effects on fabric, from adding details, dimension or shadow to creating fully illustrated scenes.
While working with textile paints, students learn techniques for creating smooth gradations of color, glazing paint to create more visual depth, covering large areas and backgrounds smoothly, avoiding blotchiness, control paint bleeding, how to working with freezer paper masks, and paint smooth lines and fine details.
This is an information packed class geared to help students gain confidence painting on fabric for art quilting.
Scholarships are available, a form is available online.
Student will bring the following supplies:
- Pebeo Setacolor transparent paints – list to be provided after registration
- 1/2 yard white PFD cotton fabric
- Several small synthetic bristle round tip brushes; sizes 0-3 and flat 1/8” and ¼” wide and a 1” wide flat paint brush
- Container for water , Large flat white tray for mixing paint, pencil, scissors, paper towels
Workshop chair will provide these supplies in class:
- freezer paper,
- two irons
- and ironing boards
